Children love to spend time on computers. That's wonderful
seeing that our world revolves around the use of technology. The
more comfortable and familiar kids are with computers the better. However,
computer use should always be monitored by an adult. Children should be
taught never to give out personal information about themselves without their
parents' permission, even when the sight appears to be safe and kid-
friendly. Home computers should be placed in a central location, such as a
family room, where children can be supervised. Parents should make
themselves and their children aware of the posible dangers of the internet.
The Wappingers Central School District home page has hundreds of
educational and fun-filled web sites in all subject areas. Go to
www.wappingersschools.org, click on "Technology" then "Mrs. Fury". There you
will find a wealth of educational games and activities for your children to
enjoy.
