What school supplies are needed?

1 1 inch; soft covered three ring binder in which to keep poem 
pages
1 box of crayons
1 pair of scissors
10 gluesticks
6-10 sharpened pencils
1 box of markers (eight basic colors)
2 boxes of kleenex
2 boxes of zip-lock baggies (1 quart size)
3 double pocket folders
1 smock or old shirt for art and painting projects

When are specials?

Gym: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
Music: Friday
Art: Tuesday
Computers: Every other Monday
Library: Wednesday

How much homework will my child have?

Children have a homework project every week. It is given to them 
on Tuesday 
and it is due on Friday. In addition, children have a reading log 
and are 
expected to read for 15 minutes every night. We will begin 
spelling homework 
later in the year.

When is a good time to contact you at school?

You can call me between 8:00 and 8:30 in the morning or after 
school between 
3:00 and 4:00. In addition I am always willing to set up a 
conference time 
with you either before school or after school. My voice mailbox 
number is 
8103. If you wish to leave a message that I need to hear before 
3:00 please 
give the message to the school secretaries.The school's number is 
233-6823.

What is a Bag of Books?

Each week, beginning in late September, your child will bring 
home a bag 
with 6 books in it. You and your child may read these book 
throughout the 
week. At the end of the week, your child will return the bag of 
books and 
take home another bag of books. This continues until late May.

Do you celebrate birthdays?

Yes, we do. You may send in cupcakes, brownies, or cookies, and a 
drink. 
Please remember to send in cups and napkins.
