Dear Parent(s):
This week we begin a short unit about winter. Some of the books we will read
this week are: The Jacket I Wear in the Snow, The Friendly Snowman, The
Biggest Snowman Ever, Bob the Snowman, and Sadie and the Snowman. Some of the
projects will be: sequencing a story, retelling a story, making a book about
a snowman, making a snowman, and writing snowman stories.
In reading the shared reading book is called: Making Collages. All children
will meet in guided reading groups and I will begin some individual
assessment of each child for mid year assessments.
In math we will practice addition and subtraction to 12 and begin learning
how to use a number line.
This week’s spelling packet is coming home today. The packet is due on Friday
and the spelling test is on Friday.
This week’s homework is a winter sorting activity. It is due on Friday along
with the reading project.
This is a computer week.
Just a reminder that children should have new supplies. Children need:
Pencils
Crayons
Markers
Gluesticks
I hope you had a wonderful holiday.
Have a good week!
Yours truly,
Mrs. Susan deGaspard
