¡Hola y bienvenidos a la clase de español!
Hello and welcome to Spanish Class! My name is Mrs. Miller, and I am the
Spanish teacher at Sandy Creek Middle School. I am looking forward to a fun
and exciting new year. With your help, I'm sure that we'll have a great
time exploring the Spanish language and culture together!
Perhaps you would like to know a little information about me:
I graduated from Mexico High School far too long ago, and I am a graduate of
SUNY Oswego. During my time in Oswego, I attended both La Universidad
Iberoamericano in Mexico City, Mexico and The University of Puerto Rico in
Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. In the summer, I teach English as a Second Language
to Spanish speaking people. I think that speaking Spanish is fun and I
can't imagine life without the ability to speak to different people from all
over the world!
In my spare time, I love to travel. In my travels I have gone to various
parts of the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Canada. I have also
visited The Dominican Republic, Paris, France and most recently, Costa Rica.
In 2011, I will be traveling to Spain and Italy with a group of SCCS
students. I am very excited to visit Europe again!
I am a mom to a 11 year old daughter, a Border Collie named Shasta, a
Pembroke Welsh Corgi(dog) named Hardy, and a cat named Scrumpy. I love to
spend my free time out walking the dogs or reading a book in the sun.
I believe that every student can learn, although they may all go about it
differently. Each and every student brings a special gift to my classroom,
and it is my role to be a detective in order to figure out what that gift is.
Our goal for this year is to be able to communicate in Spanish in the best
way that you can. Always strive to do your best!
