Parents, We took a test on Algebra, Ratios and Proportions and Integers on Wednesday. Some students missed class, so they will need to take the test when they return. Next week we will begin Geometry. I have updated the grades page to reflect the work for the second marking period. It is a little early to make any conclusions on how your child is doing, we've only had one test. However, if your child is handing assignments in late or not handing them in at all this will have an impact on the homework average, which is 35% of the total quarterly grade. So, if you see that there is a problem getting assignments handed in on time you should have a chat with your child about the importance of doing there work and handing it in when it is due. Your child's grade in math will consist of the four quarterly averages, a midterm exam, and final exam; that's a total of six grades that make up your child's final average. I base the quarterly grades on a weighted total points system, where homework is approximately one-third and tests and quizzes make up the other two-thirds of the average. Every assignment that I grade, this includes tests, quizzes, and homework, is worth a certain number of points. I compare the number of points you earn with the total number of points possible and calculate the percent. To download a grade report for your child, click on the "Student Grade Reports" link on the left hand side of this page. Then, just enter your child's last name and Student ID number in the spaces on the left and you should get a current grade report. Your child's password is their six digit ID number that should be on their current class schedule. I also sent the student ID number with the last email progress report. If you can't find your child's Student ID number, just drop me an email and I'll send it to you.
Or, would you like to view and optionally restore one of these previous versions?
