ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY POLICY
· A student/athlete's academic performances will be reviewed at every 5 week
marking period.
· If a student/athlete receives 2 or more failing grades at the 5 week
marking period (or report card mark) the student will be put on academic
probation for the next 5 weeks (a grade of 65 is considered passing)· If
after the 5 week marking period the student/athlete is failing 2 or
more classes, they will be ineligible to participate in any capacity in
athletics for the remainder of that sports season.
· If at the 5 week marking period the student/athlete is passing all the
classing or only failing 1 class they will be eligible to participate in the
next season. If the student/athlete is still failing 2 or more classes they
will continue to be ineligible for participation until the next marking
period.
· If a student/athlete was on probation once during a season, is then
cleared at the next marking period but fails 2 or more at the next marking
period (in the same year) they will be ineligible to participate.

DRUG ALCOHOL TOBACCO POLICY
Drug, alcohol, and tobacco use and abuse is a major problem and threat not
only in society but also in our community and our school. One of our main
objectives (and priorities) is to educate our students of the risks and
harmful effects of these substances, so that they will refrain from using
them. We are aware of the fact that the use of these substances occurs
within out student population, including our athletes. We highly encourage
those individuals who are involved with, or are beginning to experiment with
or are thinking of experimenting with these substances to seek assistance. We
are providing a list of agencies that offer assistance in Drug, Alcohol, and
Tobacco Educational Programs. Confidential counseling is also available at no
charge though our Guidance Department and also through Farnham.
If a student/athlete is involved with any of the following:
· Possession/Use/Sale-or distribution of....
-Tobacco Products
-Alcohol
-Illegal Drugs
-Prescription drugs not specifically intended for the student by his/her
Physician
-Non-prescription drugs (inappropriate use)
-Any other drug, designer drugs, etc. which are considered by the school to be
questionable, problematic, or a health risk.
He/she will be excluded from participation as follows:
· 1st offense-excluded from participating in 20% of the seasons games (not to
exceed 5 games) and attend a 3 hour educational program. Athletes will still
be allowed to participate with the team except for the games from which they
are excluded.
· 2nd offensive-excluded for the remainder of the season
· 3rd offensive-excluded for one(1) calendar year
· 4th offensive-excluded from participation in Athletics for the remainder of
their High School career
· Exclusions may carry over to the next season
NOTE: The judgment of schools officials will prevail in all decisions. While
the school officials will always attempt to be fair and appropriate in their
consideration, their charge is to act with vigilance for the safety of all.
The school will act in every way possible to discourage or prevent student
involvement with drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. We sincerely hope parents will
join us in this endeavor.
