This month please work on these house keeping things. It is good to get the
routine down this month. It helps kindergarteners be ready for school every
day.
Establish a bed time and stick to it. As the seasons change, it will be
easier since the night comes earlier. But right now is a good time to be in
the tub by 8, into bed for a story by 8:15 and lights out by 8:30. OK, I'll
show my age. When I was 5, my brother and I were in bed at 7:30 every night.
It is true. Younger children need plenty of sleep.
Check the bookbag after dinner, ooh and ahh over school work, check the
agenda and pack it right back in the bag for the morning. This was our mode
of communication is always ready to come to school.
Look for homework every Monday evening and do it that night.
Our first reading book comes home Monday September 21st. Your child needs to
read it to you every night for 10 nights. Then you send the book back to
school in the folder. She or he gets to pick a treasure from the Treasure
Chest! Then I send it home, ready for you to begin again with the next book
when it comes!
So again, please get these good routines started and go strong and long with
them!
