Homework Assignments for 5th Grade Homework is given Monday-Thursday: Spelling: There will be no Homework assignments for the week of April 16-20 due to New York State ELA testing. I do encourage all students to continue thier reading logs. Math: There will be no math assginments for the week of April 23rd to the 27th due to New York State math test. We will be reviewing math from the beginning of the year. Reading Logs: Each student is required to complete a weekly reading log to be signed by a parent/guardian each week. A rubric is attached and the log will be checked on Mondays. The reading log is for the month, but students are required to read a total of 150min each week. I will average the four grades for a final overall grade. Other: Social Studies: Students' are working on "A New Nation" and are almost finished with their books. They will be using computers to learn about "The California Gold Rush," "The Oregon Trail," and the "Lewis & Clark Expedition." Once they have completed answering specific questions they will choose one of the three and create a PowerPoint presentation.
