How often does my child receive ESL instruction?

Students receive ESL instruction every day.  Some students receive 36 minutes 
of instruction.  Others receive 72 minutes of instruction.

Is it necessary for my child to have ESL?

If your child took the ESL test (LAB-R) and the results indicated that 
services were necessary, then, yes, your child must attend ESL class every 
day.

When will my child be done with ESL class?

All ESL students take a test at the end of the school year.  It is called the 
NYSESLAT.  If the results of that test indicate that your child is proficient 
in English, then he/she no longer has to take ESL
