Ways to improve your progress in Social Studies: *Read the reading assignments (take notes if that is what you need to do to stay focused) *Do the homework (work for completion as well as understanding) *Review the vocabulary (strive to understand vocabulary as opposed to just memorizing vocabulary) *Pay attention in class (take notes to stay focused) *Stay Activity period when completing the study guide to ask questions about the chapter. *Stay Activity period to ask questions you have about homework or class work. *While taking the test, slow down and read carefully. *Read the documents carefully and pick out key words. *Read questions carefully and pick out key words. *Sometimes answers to a question are found in other questions and charts (Keep your eyes open for answers in the test. *Use logical deduction (figure out what is definitely incorrect and then reason out the best answer.)
