Ms. Segaloff earned her BA in Mathematics from Dominican College and her MS
in Educational Technology from Iona College. She also earned an MS in
Literacy in the Content Areas from Walden University. This is Ms. Segaloff's
10th year at SOMS. Ms. Segaloff has instructed both 7th and 8th grade math
classes. She is also the Math Olympiad Coach.
Ms. Segaloff has instructed adult students at Dominican College on weekends.
The class she taught there is called "Applications of Computers in the
Classroom." She enjoys the challenge of technology. When she is not grading
papers or planning lessons, Ms. Segaloff enjoys reading, crochet, and
spending time with her two Doberman babies. The dogs' names are Bismarck and
Howitzer... She is sure to speak of them often in class.
It is my mission to nurture each student's sense of inquiry and to promote
the desire to learn. It is my goal as a teacher to demonstrate problem-
solving skills that can be used by my students in class and throughout their
lives. It is my duty to help students take responsibility for their own
work, attitude, and behavior, as well as to foster self-directed learning.
My objective is to aid in the development of responsible life-long learners
who contribute to society.
