1. allegiance: loyalty

7. constitution: a set of laws for governing a group, state, or country

8. Declaration of Independence: the document that stated the reasons for the 
desire of the American colonies to be independent of British control

9. democracy: rule or government of, for, and by the people

10. dictator: a ruler who has total authority
