5th Grade is the BEST!

THANK YOU for visiting my class web page. I am glad to provide you
with some information to help you to get to know me better.

This year will be my 12th year teaching 5th grade. Before I came to Hagan,
I taught middle school and high school Spanish. I have a BA in Geography, a
BS in Elementary Education, and a M.Ed. I have an amazing family with 5
brothers and sisters and two very supportive parents who are scattered all
across the country.

In my free time I enjoy running, playing golf, swimming, fishing, visiting
my family's home in Thousand Islands, grading papers (just kidding!) and
going to Colgate games.

Missions for the Class:

THERE IS MORE THAN ONE MISSION FOR MY CLASS, AND THEY ARE ALL EQUALLY
IMPORTANT.

*************************************************

1) Students must demonstrate exceptional character and manners. I believe
this begins at home. Good morning, please, and thank you, are expected
conversation on a daily basis. Good behavior is also expected and rewards
for such will not be given.

*************************************************

2) Students will work to their best potential without any excuses. This
includes all homework and long-term project assignments. All work will be
submitted by the assigned deadline. Students who budget their time will
find the most success in my class; students who procrastinate will become
easily frustrated and will find my class to be extremely difficult.

*************************************************

3) Oral and written directions, especially classroom rules, must be
followed. Excessive talking will not be tolerated.

*************************************************

4) The teacher does not give grades to students; grades are individually
earned.

*************************************************

5) Students will appreciate their teachers' efforts with all lessons. This
includes special area teachers as well. Moaning and groaning are
unacceptable and those who do will face consequences.

*************************************************

6) Students, parents, and teachers will work cooperatively.

*************************************************

7) Students who graduate from my class will be overprepared for middle
school and the challenges that come with it. Students who do not complete
satisfactory coursework will jeopardize their graduation and placement into
6th grade.

*************************************************

8) Students will have a fun, meaningful, and enjoyable experience in 5th
grade!!!
