Are there any unannounced pop quizez?

BIOLOGY, Earth Science- A test is given after a particular topic is finished. AP BIOLOGY- Tests are given every 3-5 chapters. Tests will take two periods to complete. It will consist of multiple choice and short answer questions.Back to Top
Biology, Earth Science- Will be announced at least a month in advnce. AP BIOLOGY- Major project that will count as your final exam grade. This project consists of a written part and a power presentation part. BE PREPARED!!!Back to Top

What are the rules of the clas?
1. Mutual Respect. I expect everyone in the class to show respect for both students and teacher. I will not tolerate disrespect in my classroom. 2. PLEASE raise your hand before you speak. This will help to avoid any distractions. 3. Come prepared to learn. I will shut the door when the late bell rings. Anyone who enters my classroom after the bell will be considered late. All students are expected to sit in their assigned seats, take out notebook and start DO NOW assignment, and place homework on the side of the desk. My class is not for personal socialization.Back to Top

Do we have to correct our exams?
YES. When an exam is returned, you will have to make the necessary corrections on a separate piece of paper stapled to the test.Back to Top

What will I learn in this class?
Biology- The scientific method, cell structures and function, body systems, evolution, ecology, etc....... (much much more) Earth Science-(More than just rocks) weather, climate, rocks, earhtquakes, volcanoes, etc...... AP BIOLOGY- An in-depth analysis of the function of various parts of cells and systems. A greater appreciation for science will be gained in this class.Back to Top
How important is it for me to do well in this class?
Biology- This course is one that requires you to be organized and disciplined. You MUST put in a lot of effort in order to succeed in this course. THIS COURSE ENDS IN A REGENTS EXAM. IF YOU DO NOT PASS THE REGENTS, YOU WILL GO TO SUMMER SCHOOL. Earth Science- This course ends in a regents exam (needed for advanced regents diploma) AP BIOLOGY- Colleges look favorably on students who earn a 3 or above on AP scores.Back to Top
What happens if I hear/see an i-pod/cell phone/any other electrical device?
I WILL CONFISCATE IT. You will get a detention. NO QUESTIONS NO CHANCES. You are in my classroom to learn. It is disrespectful to have electronic devices on in the classroom.Back to Top
Will we do laboratory experiments in class?
YES, But remember: Laboratory safety is my number one concern. We all MUST behave in a manner that will ensure safety not only for yourself, but for your classmates as well. IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW SAFETY RULES, your will not participate in ANY OTHER LAB EXPERIMENTS. You will only be allowed to observe.Back to Top
