Social Studies Department Requirements:
Expectations:
Students are expected to be in their seats when the bell rings and
prepared for class with all necessary materials.
Students are expected to be respectful of the teacher and their classmates
at all times.
Students are encouraged to participate in all class discussions and
activities.
Students are expected to follow all rules and procedures in accordance
with the Saint Catharine Academy agenda book.
Grading:
Test/Projects 50%
Quizzes 25%
Homework 15%
Participation 10%
Makeup Policy: The student must make up tests, quizzes, projects and
homework the day after her return. Extensions must be requested by a parent
note submitted the day the student returns.
Participation: Students will receive 1-10 points per quarter based on
attention, active asking and answering of questions, note taking, having
materials, raising hand to participate, contributing to group work and
responding to academic challenges.
Points will be determined by the quality of participation: always (9-10),
frequently (7-8),
Regularly (5-6), sometimes (3-4), or never (0,1,2)
