UNIFORMS
School uniforms are required. They are ordered from the Greene Uniform
Co., and the children are measured in school. A written excuse is presented
to the main office if it is necessary for a child to be out of uniform.
TRAFFIC
Parents transporting their children to and from school are requested to
follow the traffic patterns established by the school. The children are to
be dropped off at the parking lot beside the new church. This request is
made to insure the safety of all our children. Please do not drive into the
lot since the children line up there. Pick up is on Anstice Street.
Parents are asked to stay in their cars and line up along the church side of
the street.
PLAYGROUND
A paid employee and volunteer mothers take care of the students during
the playground period which is from 12:15 - 1:00 p.m.
LUNCH
All grades eat lunch in the Social Room. Hot lunch is served every day.
Many children bring their own lunch. A drink may also be purchased. Please
refer to our ST. DOMINIC MONTHLY LUNCH MENU page for a complete daily menu.
HOMEWORK
Parents can do much to aid their child's progress through the proper
direction of homework. They should provide the time, location, and an
atmosphere conducive to learning for their child. Parents are requested to
encourage neatness and thoroughness in their child's work.
TESTING
The students of St. Dominic Elementary School participate in the tests
mandated by New York State as well as the standardized tests sponsored by
the Diocesan Office of Catholic Education.
CONFERENCES
Report Cards are distributed three times a year. Parent/Teacher
Conferences for all families are scheduled at the appropriate times.
Additional conferences may be scheduled if either the teacher or the parent
deems it necessary. Requests for individual conferences should be made in
writing.
