Dear Parents,
JUST A REMINDER
The children will be introduced to the new month (May). This month our class will be learning the following letters Zz, Xx, Rr, and Oo as well as its phonemic sound. The children will also identify words/pictures that begin with that letter being learned.
You can also review parts of a flower with your child. (flower, stem, leaf, roots). We will also learning about the Life Cycle of a Lady Bugs. We have been watching the different stages of our Lady Bugs
Reading logs go home every Monday and should be returned on the following Monday. Please only write in the books you read with your child that evening. You do not need to list the books that go home in your child’s baggie.
For Math we will be reviewing our numbers 0-20. The children will be introduced to subtraction and continue reviewing addition.
The children will be engaged using the smart board, computers and interacting through song and play.
I am requesting that you continue reinforcing the following: colors, shapes, and numbers from 1-20, in and out of sequence, letters and letter sounds with your child daily. Continue working on having your child remember their Address, Phone Number, and Birthday. Many of the children are able to tell me their birthday, phone number and part of their address. We will continue practicing our weather/seasons in the morning with them. We will also continue to review the days of the week, months of the year, Yesterday was, Today is, and Tomorrow will be, with the children every morning.
