Dear Students, Parents and Teachers,

 

       Throughout the 2009 school year  I will take the opportunity to emphasize good citizenship through providing  Physical Education classes that  foster RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY and RESOURCEFULNESS as values that each child learns and uses in their development as members of their class working together.

 

 We will continue with our class prayer at the start of class and reflect and give thanks at the end of class also.

 

Dear Jesus,

       

Please teach us to have RESPECT for everyone, everything and ourselves.

To be RESPONSIBLE for everything we do, for the safety of others and for their happiness.

And, to be RESOURCEFUL in finding new ways to do the things we find hard to do.

The month of November brings a change to being inside for the next few months. We start our "inside' season with a Basketball unit that incorporates all the various basketball skills and uses them in a variety of activites for all grade levels. Grades K - 2 will work on ball dribbling, bouncing and even some shooting skills using targets and play some lead-up type activites that incorporate these skills into them. They also will continue to work on partner and group type cooperative activities. Grades 3 -6 will work on skill development, rules knowledge and game play using grade level appropriate lead-up type activities.

 

Pre-K to have Phys. Ed. with Mr. Healey!  The Pre-K students will have a daily (M-Th) Phys. Ed. class with Mr. Healey in which large motor , small motor and fun exercise activities will be taught to the children.
