Announcements

We had a great week last week, the Veteran's Day concert was wonderful!

We are continuing to work on graphing, with a little bit of multiplication
practice worked into the homework. Next week we'll continue in the math book
with chapter 4.

Literature circles are going well, the students are doing a great job of
staying on task and leading their own circles, great job everyone!

We are now "sailing" across the ocean in our desk groups as we begin our
Explorer Unit. Henry Hudson is an important explorer for NYS; we will also be
learning about Verrazano, Champlain, and a little about Columbus. We are
learning about the 3 motivations for exploration (gold, glory, and land). We
will begin reading Pedro's Journal after Thanksgiving break, it's a ship boy's
journal about his experiences with Christopher Columbus.

In Science we are learning about animals, food chains and life cycles.

In religion we are starting chapter 4. This week we will be making
centerpieces to donate to a local nursing home.
