**Third grade is collecting old clothes to be donated! A student in class
suggested this as a service project. Please send in any clothes that no
longer fit, that you've been meaning to donate, send them into school with
your child and I will take them to be donated. We will accept donations
until Friday, June 1st. Thank you for your generosity!!!
All the biography posters are in and they look wonderful! I am so pleased
with all the hard work and effort that went into these posters. The students
really seemed to enjoy their biographies and I have heard people sharing
information about their person. We look forward to having you visit on
Thursday from 1:15-1:45pm. You are welcome to stay past 1:45 and take your
child home in cars. Remember to send your child dressed as their person on
Thursday!
Next week we will be going into the Hazard House provided by the Greece Fire
Department. Our visit will be at 9:30.
We are slowing wrapping up a lot of topics for the final exams. Once those
are done, we'll do some "getting ready for fourth grade" units. We are
working on Probability, and that's a "foundation for 4th grade" concept.
We'll be getting outside to do more science and talk about force, energy,
friction, and motion. We'll continue our literature study, but we are done
with word study for the year. We'll be working on grammar and punctuation.
We'll finish up the Feasts and Seasons and the Saints portion of our religion
book. Of course we'll be making our flag pins to sell in school.
Finals schedule:
Wednesday, June 6th: Math Final (8:10)
Friday, June 8th: ELA Final (8:10)
Monday, June 11th: Social Studies Final (8:10)
Tuesday, June 12th: Science Final (8:10)
Wednesday, June 13th: Religion Final (8:10)
*There will be performance tasks as well, so if your child comes home and
says they did something for the final exam, it was a performance task to show
he/she understands how to do something.
