Unit 6: ANCIENT GREECE AND ROME
|
The Ancient Greeks and Romans were very
important cultures that provided a foundation for the culture we have today.
From art to government, our history has derived from some aspect of these
civilizations. While we study Ancient Greece first, we must take the time to
appreciate all that they have contributed. It is also worth noting that
although Greece and Rome do receive much of the credit for many achievements,
we understand that all cultures have had an influence on how we have developed
today.
Greece was a civilization that focused on the
rights of people and the development of the mind. Art, architecture and
religion were intricate parts of the civilization. Through our studies we
hope to grasp a better understanding of the Ancient Greece's impact on our
lives.
