INDEPENDENT BOOK PROJECTS
1st Marking Period - 2009
During the 1st marking period you are expected to complete 5 book responses.
3 of these book responses will be on the summer reading.
1 of your book responses will be completed on an index card.
(This is your Teacher Choice Book Club choice)
2 of your book responses will be completed on the Summer Book Response Sheet.
2 of your book responses will be your choice. You are to choose 2 of the
responses listed below. Detailed instructions on how to complete each
response is located in the back of the room.
1.Create a FLIP FLAP BOOK that is a fun and easy way to tell about the story.
2.Write a JOURNAL ENTRY from a character’s point of view.
3.Create a DIORAMA of the novel using a shoe box.
4.Write a BOOK REVIEW of your novel for your classmates.
5.Create a MOBILE that shows significant events in the novel.

IMPORTANT!! Remember to take a handout with the detailed instructions for
each project!!
