About The Teacher

I have been teaching Elementary Orchestra for 16 years, 14 of those years 
have been here in Massapequa.

I received my BA and MS in Music Education from Queens College CUNY. I am an 
active member and board member of the Long Island String Festival Association 
(LISFA). I have been a Festival Chairperson, Elementary Vice President, and 
Adjudication Chairperson. I have been on the LISFA board as the LISFA 
Webmaster since 2010.

I am also an active member and past Festival Chairperson of the Nassau County 
Music Educator's Association (NMEA).

I am a member of the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) as well 
as a certified NYSSMA Judge.

I have had the honor of guest conducting for the Suffolk All County and Long 
Island String Orchestras! My Chamber Orchestras and I have also had the 
honors of performing for the NYSSMA Major Organization Festival.

Personally, I was born and raised in Massapequa! I married a fellow 
Massapequan, and we have three sons - one in grade 5, one in grade 2 and 
a one in kindergarten. Yes, we still live in Massapequa!
