Dear Parents and Children,
Oh baby, it's cold outside! We are staying warm in our cozy classroom!
It was lovely to have a chance to chat with each of you during our
conferences. Thank you for sharing information about your child. I hope
that you walked away from our conference knowing something terrific about
your child. In addition, I am so pleased to see some of our ideas being put
into action! Some students actually said practicing facts on aaamath is fun!
(I did not even pay them to say it!) Hopefully, the children have gotten
started with acts of kindness toward a special friend in our class.
Thank you PTA for a super holiday fair and for a wonderful visit with
author Brian Hienz! Mr. Hienz was amazing with the children. He taught us
some good writing tips.
We are developing a play with Mrs. Moran as our schoolwide enrichment
program. Since this is the first experience for some children to be on
stage, we are starting off with a small nonthreatening audience of second
graders.
We have also started to learn about multiplication. WE ARE NOT
MEMORIZING FACTS YET! At first, it is important for the children to have a
concrete understanding of the operation of multiplication.
Tis the season to be eating! As a result, we are learning about
health in science.
We are also writing a cause/effect paragraph about a special snowman!
That's it in a quick nutshell! Have a super day!
