The grading ststem I use in my Foods and Nutrition Class is called a POINT
SYSTEM. Each foods lab, project, homework, workbook, activity, etc. is worth
a certain number of points. At the end of the quarter all the points are
added up and a grade is calculated. A total of 100 points is possible.
There will be several opportunities for extra credit throughout the quarter
as well. Extra Credit assignments are DUE on the assigned DUE Dates. They
will not be accepted late for any reason.
The following assignments will be graded according to the point system:
-Individual Foods Labs (approximately 14-18)
-Homework Assignments
-Cultural Foods Travel Brochure Project
-Workbook
-Class Participation/Behavior
-Classwork Assignments
-Menu Project
-Extra Credit Assignments ... to be filled out and signed by
parents
Students are responsible for keeping up with classwork and homework. These
assignments need to be completed before going into the foods lab with their
group. Lab grade points will be lost for not being permitted to do labs
because work is not up to date. Lab grade points are not lost if a student is
legally absent for a foods lab.
ALL missed work due to ANY absence from class MUST be made up immediately.
