This will be my 31st year of teaching. I taught high school upstate New York
for 2 years before coming to Van Wyck in 1981. After teaching the 9th grade
Foods Curriculum for 3 years at Van Wyck I moved to Wappingers Junior High
School to pilot the new 7th and 8th grade curriculum. I taught at WJHS for
23 years and have returned to Van Wyck in the room I started in when I
came to the district in 1981. I have really enjoyed being back these past 2
years and look forward to working with your children again this year.
I have been married for 29 years and have 2 wonderful sons, Justin 21 and
Kevin 24 who I am very proud of. My Boston Terrier "Dutchess" is also the
love of my life!!

The most important factor to remember for a 10 week course, is that you can
not afford to fall behind in your work. All labs, projects, assignments, and
homework must be finished on time so you can move on to the next one.
Organizational skills will be strongly stressed!! Please check the "Block
Plan" in the classroom as well as the "Quarterly Calendar" on this website on
a regular basis to keep up with your work.
PARENTS, I urge you to support me and my coursework. This class is designed
for your child to have a positive experience and succeed. Please help me to
help them succeed. Thank you.
Please have your child cook as much as possible at home with you. This is a
lifelong experience for them. They also can get extra credit for doing it:)
