6th Grade House Principal

NAME: Mr. Daley

SCHOOL: Van Wyck Junior High School

CLASS: 6th Grade

SCHOOL PHONE: 845-227-1700 ext 103

About me:

This is my fourth year as the 6th grade house principal and I truly enjoy
working with you and your child(ren). Communication is essential to our
success, so please do not hesitate to call or email with any questions/concerns.

My Family:

Family is very important to me. I have a loving and understanding wife,
Carrie, and we have one child, Carter, who is 19 months old already! We also
have two dogs, Morgan, who is a boxer and Daisy, who is a cocker spaniel -
quite the ODD couple!

My Administrative Experience:

Prior to my time here at Van Wyck, I worked as an assistant principal in both
the Poughkeepsie Middle School and Wallkill Senior High School. Overall, this
is my sixth year as a school administrator.

Teaching Experience:

Like most college graduates, I began my career as a per diem substitute until
I was fortunate enough to receive a full time teaching position. That position
was at the Poughkeepsie Middle School, teaching Life Science. I also coached
football, baseball and basketball. Athletics played a huge role in my life
growing up and I feel they (or any extra curricular activity) play an integral
role in the development of our youth. Plus they provide many children a much
needed outlet.

My Education:

Administrative Certification
School District Administrator
Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts - Leadership Academy

Graduate Degree
Master of Arts in Educational Psychology
Marist College

Undergraduate Degree
Bachelor of Science with a concentration in secondary education
Marist College

My Life:

I consider myself somewhat of a local person. I grew up in Washingtonville, NY
and went to Marist College for both my Undergraduate and Graduate degrees.
While at Marist I played football in addition to earning my degree. It was a
great experience that prepared me for the position I hold today. I look
forward to staying in the area and continuing my work with the students who
attend Van Wyck.
