Welcome to 8th Grade American history with Mrs. Guthoff.
We have only three more weeks left before the 10 weeks report cards get
exported home. Many of you are Not doing your homework and your grades have
suffered because of that. Look below and follow this important advice.
The following is a quick advice list to help you improve your average:
1. Read the textbook to find the correct answers to your homework questions.
2. Complete homework ON TIME ON A DAILY BASIS.
3. Review and study your notes from class every night before going to sleep.
4. Take notes in class.
5. Participate in class discussions.
6. Study for quizzes and tests by rewriting the notes, reanswering the HW
questions, and making flash cards for the vocabulary terms, events, and
people from each of the chapters that will be tested.
Remember, I DO NOT ACCEPT LATE HW. These missing homeworks add ZEROs to
your quarterly average. Even though I allow three zeros on HWs each quarter
not to reduce your HW average, I recommend that you save those for really
important times.
Also, GET TO CLASS ON TIME AND BE PREPARED. Being prompt and ready to
participate will improve your learning and your quarterly average.
I am looking forward to a really great year. I already know that you are
all going to learn alot and have fun in the process.
Onward Young Historians!
