04/04/2007 The horseshoe-shaped "Skywalk" in Arizona, out over the Grand Canyon, contains a bowed glass-paneled floor to give visitors a bird's-eye view of the canyon below. The slabs of glass were formed by Döring Glas in Berlin, Germany. The skywalk opened on March 28, 2007 At present time, Germany is the world's leading exporter. In 2008, it is expected that China will become the leading exporter. Germany at present, has the biggest economy in Europe. 5/18/07 The Tram, Trolley, Streetcar, or Strassenbahn is making a comeback in Germany and other countries. The tracks are cheaper to build than a subway's, people feel safer above ground, they are less polluting than buses, and they can tranport more workers than tourists. Only 19% of the people in Germany obtain a college degree, whereas 28% earn at least a Bachelor Degree in the US. Up to 1/5 of Germany's total electricity will be produced by Wind Farms by 2020. Switzerland is the #1 consumer of chocolate. Germany is #4 and the US is #11. (Maybe that's because Swiss chocolate tastes better) A recent study found that Germans are the fattest people in Europe. (all that chocolate and beer) 75% of adult German men are overweight or obese. The US is a close second at 70.8%
