Webmaster/Computer Club 2009-2010
The Webmaster Club will be starting on Thursday, October 8th and will meet
every other Thursday. Members of the club will learn html and help to update
the Van Wyck website. Any 6th, 7th or 8th grade student who is good at using
computers can apply for membership in the club. Space is limited; members will
selected based on a first-come, first-served basis. So if you're interested
send an email to the club advisor to reserve a space in the club and receive
the appropriate permission slips.

What is the Webmaster/Computer Club?
The Webmaster/Computer Club for 2008-2009 will be much
different than in the past. This year members will learn to design, install
and customize their own website using the popular Content Management
System Joomla!.
Members will work in teams to design, install and customize real websites
. They will learn how to read html and css code, create web-appropriate
images, create flash movies and much more!
All members must have basic computer skills
including text editing and file management.
Maximum 12 students.

When and where are the meetings?
Meetings will be held on Wednesdays
afterschool - every other week.
The first meeting is Wed, Oct 1st.
The second meeting is Wed. Oct 8th.
Then we will meet every other week.

How can I join?
Any 6th, 7th or 8th grader with basic computer
skills can join. Send an email to Mrs.
