First Grade
We practiced our singing voices by gobbling. Several students
used their singing voices for the first time!! We also learned a
silly song about a turkey.
In December we are learning about good singing posture. We
continue to work on using our beautiful singing voices. We will
learn to play another new instrument.
Second Grade
We have begun our study of the music and story of the Nutcracker
ballet. Miss Brilla is teaching some ballet steps in PE class.
We will see the ballet at the Bardavon on December 10.
A CD of music from the Nutcracker is circulating around each
class. We have listened to the music of Mother Ginger, Waltz of
the Flowers, the gifts from Drosselmeyer, and the Battle and
Transformation.
Third Grade
We are working on our second patriotic song of the year. The
students did an outstanding job on their first test of writing
rhythms that I played on my recorder. We are beginning to learn
about major tonality and tonic and dominant patterns. Our new
harmony will use tonic and dominant.
Music Report Cards
