The first quarter ends on Friday, November 13th.
Thank you to all 9th period parents/guardians who responded to the blog for
this quarter. The students gained much from your postings, and I hope this
topic generated some discussion in your homes. As with all literature, it is
important for the students to understand the time period that is depicted,
and the discovery of the AIDS virus was a time in our history that changed
people's attitudes and behaviors and medical practices forever. There can
also be many connections drawn to the swine flu epidemic that we are
experiencing right now, and several of the students noted that in their
blog. Excellent!
During this academic year, I will be seeking National Board Certification.
This process will require me to evaluate and reflect on my instruction and
the impact it has on student learning. Part of the process will require me
to videotape our classes and submit examples of student work. Please know
that the videos will focus on my instruction, not on the students in the
class, and the videos will never be used for any purposes other than the
certification process. Also, all student work will be void of students' last
names. If you have any questions or concerns about the National Board
process, please call or e-mail me.
Parents & Students: Remember to return your Student Release Form to me as
soon as possible.
