Having lived the majority of my life here in Dutchess County, I am a product
of the Wappingers Central Schools system; I attended Gayhead Elementary, Van
Wyck Junior High, and graduated from John Jay. Following that, I went to
Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania, where I received a B.A. in English.
I graduated from SUNY at New Paltz with my Master's in Education degree.
I spent a number of years teaching both high school and middle school in Port
Jervis, NY. However, I left the teaching world for a while, in order to stay
home and raise my two sons, who are now in 11th and 8th grades. After
returning to teach part-time elementary school, I was delighted to find my
current job teaching 8th grade here at WJHS.
My favorite hobbies are reading, cooking, traveling, and watching New York
Yankees baseball.
I look forward to an exciting, rewarding school year with all of my new
students!
My goals for this class are to provide a safe, engaging learning environment,
in which to improve writing and reading skills, so that my students will
enjoy a greater confidence and success not only in ELA, but also in other
areas of their education.
