Welcome

Congratulations to all the students in both 7th and 8th grade who made the Honor Roll or High Honor Roll (an 85 average or above). A special thanks to ShopRite in Fishkill for their generous donation which made the breakfast a huge success. The PTA is also to thank for all of their hard work, planning, and participation on the day of the breakfast.

Thank you to all. Students please continue to strive for excellence. Hard work and perseverance pays off!!

Winter Recess
Winter Recess begins on Thursday, December 24th through Friday,
January 1, 2010. Students will return to school on Monday, January
4th.

The SKI CLUB here at WJH will be up and running this year!
There will be a Ski Club PARENT meeting on Thursday, December 17th at 7:00 PM in the auditorium. Students are welcome to attend only with their parents.

All information, including paperwork to actually join the club, will be
distributed and explained at this meeting. Students must be in good academic standing to join the ski club and must submit a copy of their first quarter report club to join the club.

Students/parents who cannot make the meeting can pick up a ski club packet in the main office or in rm 149 starting on Friday, Nov 18th. Club sign-ups will continue through January 10.

The Wappingers Junior High PTA is collecting Box Tops for Education!
Please help us by cutting out the "Box Tops for Education" labels on groceries you use and dropping them off in the "Box Tops Bear" in the main office. The PTA will receive 10 cents for each box top submitted. The money raised will be used for activities and equipment for the students at Wappingers Junior High.

Toys for Tots
Our school is participating in the Toys for Tots drive to help
brighten the
holidays for thousands of children in Dutchess County. New unwrapped
toys may be dropped off in the Main Office from November 30th to December
16th.

Recess
Students please remember you must be dressed appropriately for the
weather if you wish to go outside during your lunch period.

Homework Help Club
Any student interested in getting help with their homework, please
come to the Project Homework Help Club in room 144. Students who
participate will be able to take the 3:50 PM late bus home.

Message from the Principal

8th into 9th orientation will be held on February 4, 2010 at RCK at 7:00, this is a parent only presentation. See side bar for further information. We are participating in Toys For Tots, please consider bringing in a new unwrapped toy for a deserving teen in the area.

Community Math Help A community volunteer group is offering free math tutoring and homework assistance to students in Grades 7 & 8. The sessions will be from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesdays at Van Wyck JHS.
