HOW WILL I KNOW HOW MY STUDENT IS DOING IN SCIENCE CLASS?

There is a quiz or test each week. Quizzes are returned the following day.
Ask your student to share the information with you.

I will e-mail grade reports every 5 weeks to those students or parents who
have sent me their e-mail address.

IS THERE EXTRA-CREDIT?

Yes, there are extra-credit options for each portion of your grade.

Test grades may be improved by correcting any questions that you got
wrong. Write out the question with the correct answer. Then, explain why
that is the correct answer.

Lab grades may be brought up by turning them in early for an extra 5%.
There will be one extra-credit lab each quarter. These will be labs that
can be done at home, on your own.

Homework grades may be increased by doing current events. Find any
current newspaper, magazine or internet article to turn in. Along with the
article should be a breif summary in you own words. Tell how this article
relates to Science and then give your opinion.

Class performance grades may be brought up by being the first student to
name the stone that Ms. Boyle wears each day.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT WILL BRING UP MY GRADES?

Yes. Ms Boyle is offering 5 points on your quarter grade for reading
books. Your book does not have to be about science. Read a book and bring
it in to discuss with Ms. Boyle.

Science Fair participation will earn extra points on your 3rd quarter
average.
