Who else will be working with my child?

Miss Yerry is the consultant teacher who will spend half of the
day working with our students.

Miss Graham will be the Second Grade Reading Specialist who comes
to our class during our reading block each day.

Miss Anderson will be our teacher assistant working with us
when Miss Yerry is not in our room.

In the afternoon, Mrs. Deguire will be working with us during our
math centers.

What will my child's homework load look like?

I will give homework in math, reading, and spelling each night.
Typically, I do not give homework on the weekends unless they are
working on a project or if they did not complete their work
during the week.

How much time should I spend on homework with my child?

This depends on each child. On the average your child should
complete it in 20-30 minutes.

I want to plan a birthday party for my child. Can I send invitations?

I would appreciate it if you sent invitations for the entire
class or specifically all the boys (if your child is a boy) or
all the girls (if your child is a girl). We need to be careful we
do not hurt another child's feelings if they are not invited.
Therefore, if this is the case I would appreciate it if you sent
the cards outside of school.

Can I send cupcakes or cake to school for my child's birthday?

Yes! Please let me know a day in advance via email or a note in
your child's agenda. We will usually wait until the end of the
day to celebrate because we have a very busy day. Please send
napkins or plastic silverware if need be. I would also prefer you
eliminate food items containing peanuts or peanut butter. Some
students may have food allergies.

Do we have a snack break?

Not usually. Since we have an early lunch I do not think we need
a snack break.
