Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
  1. How can I get ahold of you?
  2. What type of classes do you teach?
--------------------------------------

How can I get ahold of you?

You can call me between the hours of 7:45 - 8:30 and 2:30 - 3:15. I do not
have students during these hours. It is hard to talk with parents while I am
teaching, so I encourage you to call during these hours. You can also write a
note in your child's planner informing me of something or about calling you. I
can schedule appointments before school or after school or when it is
convenient for you. I am very flexible and realize that parents work during
our school hours and may need to meet in the evening.

What type of classes do you teach?

I am a certified special education teacher and teach in a 15:1 room and a
resource room. A 15:1 room is a room for students with learning challenges
that can have up to fifteen students and one teacher. Typically my groups
average between two to ten students. In a 15:1 room I teach pull out reading
and math groups. There are also 15:1 science and social studies classes, but I
don't have any this year. In them math and reading classes I have students
that need repetition and the curriculum modified and slowed down. My students
are very successful and we work on the state standards that are required for
all students to complete their given year in school. A resource room is for
students that need their general education curriculum supplemented. I work on
organizational skills, studying for tests, reviewing material that was
presented by their general education teacher, and helping them to understand
their homework.
