Reading Homework Help

Any nights that I do not assign jomework, please read your child's library book  with him/her.  Also, while you are reading with your child, ask him/her questions about what you're reading :

*Who is(are) the main character(s)?

*What is the main idea?

*What is the problem?  How was it solved?

*What is the setting? Where does the story take place?

*Did you think the story had a good ending?  If not, how could you have changed the ending to make it better?

*Are there any words you didn't understand?  Be sure to explain those meanings to your child!

*Ask your child why certain characters are feeling like they are (happy, sad, angry, jealous, etc.), and ask if they know any other words that mean the same thing (sad - miserable, unhappy, upset, etc.)

*Did you like the story? Why or why not?
