This is my 12th year teaching in the Yorktown School District, and my 12th
year teaching 5th grade. Being a teacher is something I've wanted for as
long as I can remember. My kindergarten progress report states that I was
a "born teacher." Apparently I used to enjoy reading to the other students
in our classroom reading corner. I just hope they weren't there under
protest!
I received by Bachelors in Education as well as my
Masters in Reading and Special Education from Manhattanville College. I
grew up in Yorktown and in White Plains and I currently live in White
Plains. When I am not in the classroom (my first love!) I like singing,
visiting historical places and cheering on my favorite sports teams. GO
YANKEES!!
My mission for the class is that each and every student finds a positive
learning environment where everyone can feel successful. I want the students
to realize that our classroom is a place where everyone can take educational
risks and that mistakes can also help us learn. It is my hope that we
understand and respect each others differences, strengths, and abilities.
My mission is to help each student understand how much they can bring to our
classroom learning experience and recognize how much they are capable of
accomplishing.
