The focus of the Home and Career Skills curriculum at MESMS is to teach our
students the skills they will need to enhance the quality of their lives.
These skills will enable them to become competent, confident, and
responsible adults. Our Home & Career Skills program helps students to meet
the challenges of daily living and provides hands on laboratory experiences
that foster leadership and group skills for all students.
This program is a comprehensive curriculum that students experience for 10
weeks each year (6th, 7th, and 8th grade). The common thread of Home and
Career Skills is to emphasize the importance of decision making, problem
solving, and time management. These essential life long skills are needed
to become independent members of our society.
