We are working with microscopes and students are looking at various objects and drawing what they see in their microscope packets. They are being graded on neatness and accuracy of their drawings. We will continue drawing tomorrow. 9-11-09: No science homework. In CORE, students are working with Mr. Todd on some problem-solving activities involving forces. They will be conducting some experiments with temperature and heat and using their measuring skills. They are keeping notes and writing reflections on these activities, which they will have to show us at the end of 5 weeks to receive a grade of PASS or FAIL for the first quarter. These notes are kept in either a binder or folder. 9-16-09: Read both pages of the bug charts carefully. Write the names of each of the bugs next to the pictures - 24 total. Study the group one bugs - there are 7 of them - for a quiz on Monday. The midterm will include the following topics: stream, measurement, water properties, and weather (which we will study in January). Students should review their review sheets, tests, and notebook pages for the midterm. Also they should begin watching the weather on tv, computer, or reading the newspaper weather page.
