On November 17th, students in Grades 4, 6-8 will be honored with a visit from author Joseph Bruchac. According to his website, Mr. Bruchac "has been creating poetry, short stories, novels, anthologies and music that reflects his Abenaki Indian heritage and Native American traditions."

Schedule of Events

11:30-12:30- Lunch with Mr. Bruchac- For Book Club and Battle of the Books Students

12:45-1:45- Grades 4 & 6 Presentation

2:00-3:00- Grades 7 & 8 Presentation

April 8, 2008

On April 8th, students in Grades 9-12 will be honored with a visit from popular young adult author, Chris Crutcher. Chris will speak to each grade level during a special assembly.

Here is a brief schedule of the day's events:

Pizza with Chris: A one-on-one session for students who participated in Battle of the Books

6th period: Chris speaks to students in Grades 9 & 10

7th period: Chris speaks to students in Grades 11&12

8th period: Chris will be available in the library to sign autographs

**By sign-up only: Chris will meet with a select number of students after school (3:05-4:15) for a one-on-one Question and Answer session about writing.

Books by Chris Crutcher are available for purchase by pre-ordering through The Rivers End Bookstore. Order forms can be obtained from Mrs. Allen. All orders (and checks payable to Sandy Creek Book Club) are due to Mrs. Allen by Monday, March 17th.
