Why do we have to speak so much Spanish in class?

1st- Immersion is a teaching method that is proven effective.  
The more you 
use it, the better you get at it.
2nd- Circumlocution (talking around words you don't know) is a 
very valuable 
skill that takes a lot of practice to master.
3rd- Doesn't it just make sense to speak Spanish in Spanish class?
