This is the third year that we will be using the Harcourt Brace math program in first grade. The Harcourt Brace program has been specifically aligned with the new New York State Math Standards. With this math program, the first graders will have many opportunities for hands-on learning experiences, technology-based lessons, test-taking practice activities, and family math activities just to name a few! Several of our first grade teachers also participated in a Smartboard training seminar this summer during which we were able to create a variety of math lessons on the interactive Smartboard. We can't wait to try out these new lessons with the students!
