Lots of stuff...

1.  Reminder that class trip is next Friday (11/6).  I sent chaperone confirmation letters home with students.  We had more parents offer to chaperone than we needed, so if you didn't get a letter, thanks anyway.  We hope to have another trip in the spring, so maybe you can help us out then.  If your child needs a box lunch from the cafeteria, let me know ASAP so I can order it.

 

2.  Thirteen Colonies exam next Thursday.  Study guide sent home today.  As with the last exam, 7R students may complete and turn in on test day for 5-10 points based on at least 50% being completed.  The study guide is also posted on my webpage if (surprising, I know) some students misplace their copy.

 

3.  Study session for exam will be next Wednesday after school in room 132.  All are welcome.

 

4.  We sent home "Mr P's Movie List" today for your signature.  Rather than get approval for each movie I MIGHT show, I have a master list of films/videos that may be shown during the year in my classes.  As I say in the letter, I will skip over or mute scenes with excessive violence and other inappropriate content.  If there is a movie you really don't want your child to see, indicate on the form and they will be provided with an alternate assignment in another location.

 

5.  Finally, my student teacher took over my classes this week.  I'm very pleased with both the content of his lessons and the way he handles students.  Kids are engaged and seem to enjoy working with him.  I would be appreciative of any feedback from your student.  Just email me with any comments - they will be, of course, be kept confidential.
