I am excited to enter my fifth year of teaching at Crestwood Primary
School. I have taught kindergarten for three years, and I am now enjoying
my second year of teaching first grade. I grew up in southeast Ohio on a big
dairy farm and now reside in Streetsboro with my dog Gracie.
I received a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State
University and am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Biological
Sciences for Elementary Teachers from Miami University, Oxford, OH. With
these experiences, I hope to instill a joy of learning in each of my
students and help them to realize their full potential.
My favorite subject is science! I love to learn about nature and the world
around me. During the past three summers, I have had the opportunity to
participate in a grant-funded course offered through Miami University, Oh,
for Ohio elementary teachers to study environmental concepts out West. As
both a student and most recently an instructor of the course, I have spent
my summers hiking throughout Wyoming and learning from the most diverse
landscape in the country, including Yellowstone and Grand Teton National
Parks. I am thrilled to teach what I have learned to my students and to
give them a great appreciation for the world around them.
My hobbies include reading books, scrapbooking, and hiking. I also like to
take Gracie for nice long walks on my parent's farm.
My teaching mission:
As an educator,I believe that all children can reach their full potential in
a caring, supportive learning environment. It is my mission to provide all
students with positive learning experiences that nurture their strengths,
interests, and individual learning needs. My ultimate goal is to build a
strong learning foundation that will support their continuous journey of
lifelong learning.
