| 2nd Grade Homework:
Reading: Please find 20 minutes a day to listen to your child read.
Sometimes the reading will be assigned, other times it will be the child's
choice.
Math: Spend 5-10 minutes at a time, a couple days a week, practicing math facts
(both addition and subtraction). Look for homework sheets on Tuesdays. Games
are an important part of our math practice. Periodically games will be sent
to play at home. Check the class newsletter for "Do Anytime Activities" for
each unit we study.
Spelling: Individual lists are brought home on Mondays, and the tests are on
Fridays (or the last day of that week). The words on the list are a
combination of pattern words representing the phonics or other pattern we are
studying and high frequency words that the students should spell correctly in
all their writing.
