I can't believe that we are in the final two weeks of first
grade. We began our 
countdown of the last 15 days of school by popping a balloon each day that is filled with a
special activity. We have had so much fun. We have got to sit in
our chairs backwards, chew gum, practice math double digit addition in shaving
cream, have relay races, and even got the opportunity to not wear shoes in our
classroom for a day. The days have been crazy but exciting. I hope
the children enjoyed these days as much as I have.

Remember field day is this Friday. We will ride the bus to and from
Zanesville High School for the big event. It is suppose to be a beautiful
day. We can't wait. 
There will be no school on Monday May 27 because of Memorial Day. On
Wednesday we will go skating in the morning at Lind Skating Rink. On
Thursday we will have our SPELLING CARNIVAL to have one last hurrah with our
first grade spelling words.

I was just informed that our class was one of the winners of the
"Pennies for Patient" campaign. We will be rewarded with a
classroom pizza party on the last Wednesday of school. Thank you to all
the children, parents and grandparents that donated money for such a worthy
cause. Our children learned a lifelong lesson about giving.
