I love their philosophy!! When parents ask me for ideas on how
to handle tough situations with their child, this is one resource
I always recommend. I know this way of parenting takes a lot of
practice and perseverance, but I also know it can be very
successful. If nothing else, sign up for the weekly emails.
They are short, but will give you quick, workable strategies to
try with your children - from toddlers to teens!

Here is an article on cutting. As stated below, there are
several sites and articles online that deal with this issue. If
you feel your child, or their friend, needs help with this,
please continue to look for resources and information. Kids need
to know they are loved and that we care.

If you are experiencing a child who is cutting, please read the
literature. There is so much information online! Talk with your
child. If needed, there is a helpline; 1-800-366-8288
(1-800-dont cut).
Also, Mr. T. David Watts, who is the Director of Community
Education at Belmont Pines Hospital, could be an additional
resource for you (330) 759-2700.

This site is a wonderful resource. The page I have provided
focuses on the social aspect of your preteen, but there are also
many links to the left. A variety of family and school issues are
addressed in these links as well. Check them out.

Dr. Rosemond has some very insightful parenting/family
strategies. I have always enjoyed his very 'matter of fact'
ideas. His articles can be extremely inspiring for the parent to
step up and 'BE THE PARENT'. I think you might like this site.
I especially like the daily quote. Good stuff! ;)
