Reading

Accelerated Reading program consists of reading every night for 20 minutes and taking one or more tests per month to gain 3 AR points per month.  September if the exception.  One book and one passed test is all that is required. (passing is 70% or better)

Word Wisdom

Students should have one page per night for homework

Time in reading groups also spent on review

Spelling

Your child either has the first half of the list or the second half of the spelling list depending on whether he or she have first or second period reading. Homework is taking time at home to study.  Mrs. Maher and Mrs. Kerns will not be collecting any.  Test Friday.

Reading groups

Students have spelling, , fluency, comprehension, reading skills, and word wisdom work during centers.  They should complete all work by Friday, turn in for grading

 Science

WE are working on the Matter unit.

Please go over activites with your child that they can complete in school or at home.  Those who work hard will get that "A".

Students should spend considerable time on learning math facts at home.  These are basic skills needed for building new skills.  Links provide practice games.
