We're down to our last 10 days of Second Grade - our LAST HOMEWORK assignment comes home on Thursday night.  Enjoy the long weekend and the warm nights without homework!  Our Social Studies test on Unit 5 and this week's Spelling test will be our last tests!  You made it!
This is a busy time of year, however, with lots of special events coming up.  Yesterday we were treated to the band concert - Mr. Hill's last, as he retires this year!  We will miss him as an instructor, a colleague, and a friend!  We're working on a little surprise for Mrs. Schnittger, our fifth grade teacher, who is also retiring from teaching after 10 years here at Messiah.  We're practicing our cheer for Field Day (June 4th) and thinking about how we want to do our banner.  Our art work will be on display Tuesday, May 22, in the commons area before the evening's band concert.  Next Tuesday night, May 29, is our choir concert at 7:30 p.m.
   We'll be doing some review work next week and a few special projects to wrap up the year.  The following week will be a blurr of Field Day, cleaning the room, etc.  I have thoroughly enjoyed this year's group - what a very capable class!  They will do good things in the coming years!  Have a wonderful summer- I hope to see you all in the halls next year!
